About the Revival of Arai Post Town

Arai, a district of Myoko City, once flourished as Arai-juku, a post town along the historic Hokkoku Kaido route. It served as an important stop for feudal lords traveling under the sankin-kotai system, as well as pilgrims making their way to Zenko-ji Temple. The town was once filled with the lively atmosphere of travelers coming and going.

Even today, remnants of this rich heritage can be found throughout the town, from historic buildings to stone markers that tell the story of its past.

Through the revitalization of this historic post town, we hope to create a place where visitors can connect with the culture, stories, and people of Arai, while helping to bring renewed energy to the community.
